What better way to kick-off the dragon boat season with a trip to Key Biscayne. The inaugural Miami Dragon Boat Festival is the perfect opportunity to form local groups to try dragon boating, alongside some of the best teams in Florida.

GWN is proud of our joint partnership with Save Our Sisters Miami. A portion of the proceeds from the event will help support their program as they introduce breast cancer survivors to the sport.

Staged at the Miami Marine Stadium in Key Biscayne with the Miami skyline in the background, the Festival promises a memorable day of racing and fun. All teams will enjoy 500m racing, with the top teams also partaking in the ever-thrilling 2k pursuit.

Festival grounds offer something for everyone. Spectators can take in the action and follow the excitement of racing while learning about the sport of dragon boat. Another point of interest is the Health and Wellness Village, where participants and spectators can receive products and services to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Families are invited to bring their children to come spend time at the races and enjoy the outdoors.

Conquering the Dragon

“Conquering the Dragon, Breast Cancer Survivors Race for Life” is a documentary about breast cancer survivors reaching for the stars and creating triumph out of tragedy, never letting up in the determined fight against breast cancer.

All In The Same Boat

Team SOS Miami is the only breast cancer survivors’ dragon boat racing team in Miami from diverse backgrounds and ages. The stories of courage, hope and friendship will unfold as the team prepares for this challenge and their message is clear, it’s not just a race to the finish line, it’s a race against breast cancer.
